Family Message – September 8, 2017

We’ve had a wonderful first week back at school with your children. It was truly great to see their enthusiasm for learning in and out of the classroom this week.

Today began with a grade 1-8 assembly (our Kindergarten students will have their own first assembly the morning of September 18th). We’ve had an overwhelming response to our call for Student Communication leaders! Our “Videographers” created a video capturing moments from our first week of school that was shared in our assembly. Educators and students will be doing some further learning early next week that will allow us to share this video and future ones with our families via our website.

Our monthly communication with you will look different this year. Rather than the traditional school newsletter, we are planning to send you regular emailed updates with information and highlights from the week. If you’d prefer a paper copy of these messages, please let us know.

If your child takes a bus to and from school, our Transportation Department and are working together to support families having access to their child’s transportation arrangements. This is new this year and requires a login. The secure Parent Login is available on BusPlannerWeb. Parents require their child’s OEN number (available from their report card), the child’s birth date, grade and school. If your child is in JK, OEN information will be made available soon.

We look forward to seeing you next week at our Meet the Educator evening on Thursday Sept 14th. We will be offering BBQ’d hamburgers from 5-6pm and an Open House afterwards so you can visit your child(ren)’s classrooms and meet their amazing educators.

Happy Weekend!
